For the construction of a work ship, Damen Shipyards needed a quality building package. And they needed it fast. The construction, which took place in Sweden, had to start as soon as possible and the usual lead times and schedules simple weren’t an option at this point.
‘This was the first building package that Onepush did for us,’ says Kevin van Doeveren, lead engineer Shipbuilding at Damen Shipyards. ‘I expected our in-house 3D engineering and Onepush to make a perfect team, shortening the lead times of the design-to-building package process. And wow, did they live up to those expectations.’
The building package didn’t take the regular four, but less than one week. This package was directly cut bij Snijtechniek Brabant, including transport it took them one week to get the package to the Swedish building floor. Thanks to accurate plates and advanced plate markings by Onepush, the six weeks of building time that was estimated by the Swedish builder, was reduced to a total of three. Impressive, to say the least. All together a great example of complete chain optimization.
